Fees and charges
The following fees and charges apply to most courses on offer at Gold Coast Institute of TAFE:
- Tuition fees - these fees are the students' contribution to the operational costs of tuition. Exemptions may apply to these fees. Included in this fee is the internet fee.
An internet fee charged per semester allows students access to Gold Coast Institute of TAFE computer hubs and unlimited download capacity.
- Amenities fees (Student Services) - these fees are the charge for the facilities and support areas for students provided by Gold Coast TAFE. Exemptions may apply to these fees.
- Printed learning resources charges - students may be charged for printed learning resources where these are provided in lieu of textbooks. However, these will be actual costs and not a broad-based levy.
- Protective clothing charges - students may be required to buy items of personal apparel which are essential to their protection while undertaking a course, eg. Safety glasses, safety boots, hair nets, uniforms etc. Once purchased these items remain the personal property of the student.
- Fee for service (FFS) charges - for students undertaking courses at commercial rates, the enrolment fee is inclusive of all applicable fees and charges and no exemptions apply.
- Student ID card - as part of your enrolment with us, your fees will include the purchase of a Student ID Card. This is used for identification purposes when entering classrooms and for borrowing resources from our libraries.
