Having started my apprenticeship in 1973, I am still on the Gold Coast 36 years later with 4 wonderful apprentices and a motivated team of 11. Our workshop foreman, Nathan Cowley won the 'Gold Coast Apprentice of the Year Award' in 2004 and now runs our production team. Queensland Training Awards also recognized Farmers Place as winner of 'Small Employer of the Year' in 1999. Our apprentices are our lifeblood and we are proud of their creativeness and zeal and Gold Coast TAFE plays an integral part in their training. The teachers and management are passionate in their quest to keep up with changing times due to technology, economic downturns, busy times and other factors. We've found that communication and flexibility are the benchmarks for Gold Coast TAFE. |
