Gold Coast Institute of TAFE is one of Australia's leading vocational education and training facilities and the largest in the Gold coast region with five campuses and enrolments of over 16,000 students annually.
Our training was awarded the best in Queensland for 2007 (Queensland Training Awards) so students can be assured their future is in secure hands.
Our programs have been designed in close consultation with business and industry. When our students complete their studies with us, they will have the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure a competitive advantage when entering the workforce or moving onto further education. Whether a student joins Gold Coast TAFE straight from school or after years in the workforce, we will work with them in the pursuit of their goals.
On 1 July 2008 Gold Coast TAFE began a new era as a statutory institute in Queensland's TAFE network. The statutory authority model offers a framework for the Institute to be more flexible, cost effective and autonomous. Key to our success in this new governance model, will be our ability to consistently ensure that the customer experience at GCIT is positive and meets expectations.
The development of Gold Coast TAFE's future infrastructure is impacted by the growth of the Gold Coast City, its transportation links, the development of the learning environment and the development of industry and community. Therefore major infrastructure planning has been a focus for the Institute with the introduction of a 20 year Infrastructure plan to take account of emerging educational trends and technologies.
The Institute's vision is to produce highly skilled graduates who make a positive difference - they will make a difference in their organisations and they will make a difference in their communities. They will make a contribution to the economic development of their regions, cities and/or countries.
We want people to succeed, and we believe that the skills and knowledge acquired through study and work at Gold Coast TAFE help people to do just that. We also believe that the contributions we make within our community contribute to the success of our community, and we are justifiably proud of that.
Gold Coast TAFE's mission is to be an internationally recognised innovator in the design, assessment and delivery of vocationally related skills, business solutions, and strategies for life-long learning.
